Miss Lebanon Pageant (Australia)
Introduction
The Miss Lebanon Pageant was established 2000, when the Lebanese Community felt that the true beauty of is culture should be made known to the world.
Joe Khoury OAM, with the help of business and community support established the Miss Lebanon Pageant Council. The Pageant being the highlight of the Lebanese community.
The Miss Lebanon Pageant gives the Lebanese community the chance to show to the world their culture (that extends back to ancient times).
The Pageant in presenting the beautiful and most talent young women of its community, attracts the support of government, business and community.
This great event happens annually in which we established by Mr Joseph Khoury OAM who is the founder of the company based in Sydney, and is the Director for the Future Lebanese and Arabic Newspaper. With over 600,000 people of Lebanese and Arabic background in Australia, beauty presents a commercial as well as a cultural value in terms of good personality, beauty and a creative outlook towards life as well as an overall representation of our country.
This is strong evidence of how the Lebanese community responds to its cultural heritage so the idea of holding a beauty pageant to acknowledge heritage beauty here in Sydney would give a positive impression about the importance of such an event.
It is not exaggerating that the Miss Lebanese Australia Pageant is a promising chance to open up new channels.
The importance of the event is attributed to many elements, with the most important being the huge Arabic population and popularity present within Australia. According to our latest survey there are 600,000 people from Lebanese and Arabic backgrounds. The average of the young people of Arabic background in NSW comes upto 800, were 40% speak Arabic fluently. The remaing 200 covers the first generation attached to the origin of the culture where heritage forms an indispensable part.

This Saturday the 13th, Banana Joes in Marrickville (258 Illawarra Road) have allowed me to do a sausage sizzle fundraiser. They have agreed to allow me to do this every second saturday starting at 11am. This week because it is the first week, i will have only the sausages but as the weeks progress I will make cupcakes, lebanese chocolates ( which I will be selling as an individual fundraiser aswell) etc. Through Banana Joes I have meet many potential sponsors in the Marrickville community. I had a graphics designer make me beautiful posters which will be stuck on the window so that customers are aware of who I am and what my aim is. Its going to be a lovely day and the publicity that it will bring for me in the community will be great. |
